Unit Description
Students will use their summer reading texts to refresh skills of summary and theme analysis, which students will demonstrate through a theme-focused explanatory essay.

Make-up/Absent Policy
- It is the student’s responsibility to retrieve work from days missed from the letter box at the front of the room.
- Missing assignments may be turned in up to 1 week after the original due date.
- Revised assignments may be turned in up to 2 weeks after they are returned to you.
- All homework and exit tickets can be revised. Any specific changes to this policy is at the teacher’s discretion (it’s up to the teacher).
