As we quickly approach the half-way point of the school year, our juniors are beginning to seriously consider which colleges and universities to apply to in the upcoming months. Many students and families in our community have questions about finances, citizenship, student loans, scholarships, and more — to help all of our juniors and their families begin the application season with the information they need, Memphis Rise Academy will be hosting a “Paying for College” information session next month.
All junior students and their families are invited to join us for breakfast and coffee on Saturday, December 7, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The information session will teach juniors and their families what the next steps are for investing in a college education by holding a number of breakout sessions led by representatives from:
- Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC)
- University of Memphis
- Christian Brothers University
- Southwest Community College
After the breakout sessions, one-on-one appointments will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. These sessions are designed to provide individualized counseling around finances and individual family questions and concerns.
Be on the lookout for RSVP forms — we look forward to seeing you there!
